Housing Associations

Housing associations offer exciting possibilities to install a large quantity of renewable energy options within a property portfolio. This may well include individual properties but also communal houses and sheltered housing.

TV Energy has worked with a number of Housing Associations and Local Authorities to assess the scope for 'greening'. For example, with one Housing Association, TVE assessed their housing stock (approximately 1,750 units) to see which would be suitable for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems and other renewables. In order to do this we implemented a strategy for the Housing Association including a (mostly desk) based appraisal of all existing and proposed housing stock. This identified those properties within the Housing Association portfolio that would most benefit from a phased introduction of technology; determined overall capital costs and potential revenues.

As a company we can provide ongoing technical support on a 'call-off' basis to assist with implementation of proposed programmes including assistance with procurement. We can also help to develop an in-house capability to install and maintain relevant renewable energy equipment.

TV Energy is also assisting with tenant communication explaining the benefits of changes and how they might make the most of the new technology.
