News - Wycombe:
Cressex assessment favours woodchip CHP
The feasibility study for Wycombe DC
which examined the potential for a large energy centre principally
fuelled from local woodchip to supply distributed energy services to
properties within the Cressex/M40 corridor is now complete (May 2005).
The outcome of the report by TV Energy is favourable towards the
installation of a new woodchip CHP (combined heat & power) or
heat-only boiler scheme to supply heating, hot water (as well as
electricity and cooling, in the case of CHP) to the new sports centre
initially, with the potential to expand in the future and connect to
other properties in the local area. Further progress will be linked to
the planning programme for the new sports centre, currently underway.
Cressex
renewable energy development study for Wycombe
TV Energy is currently carrying out a feasibility study taking in the M40 Corridor/Cressex area of High Wycombe on behalf of Wycombe District Council. The purpose is to explore the technical and economic viability of supplying proposed new leisure and residential development as well as a number of existing properties with energy services (heating, cooling and electricity) from a biomass-fuelled combined heat and power facility. Results from the study are expected in early 2005.
