Grade 'A' Bacon
March 2007: Built Environment Advisor Ian Bacon has become an authorised SAP assessor, adding to the depth of expertise offered by TVE in the field of sustainable housing.
The status, awarded by the National Home Energy Rating scheme, means that the individual is qualified to aid the design and specification of new dwellings, set energy efficiency standards for new dwellings in the social housing sector and assess Part L compliance with the Building Regulations. These services are of increasing interest to housebuilders and local authorities, as demand for sustainable building grows and the required standards rise.
TVE enhances low carbon consultancy services
Jan 07: TV Energy continues to expand its capabilities, with the recent addition of a Low Carbon Consultant to its books. Michael Beech, Technical Advisor at TVE, has become a member of the LCC register within the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). Registration is based on demonstrating knowledge of how to deliver and maintain more energy efficient buildings, which Michael achieved in 2006 through formal training and examination.
As a result TVE is able to advise clients on the design of new, refurbished or extended commercial buildings to the highest energy efficiency standards. It can also ensure compliance with Building Regulations Part L (2006) through specific auditable checking procedures. Specific areas of expertise are energy efficiency and conservation, low carbon and renewable energy technologies and passive building design. These services are likely to appeal to private developers, architects and Building Control Officers wherever compliance with – or going beyond – Part L (ADL2A and ADL2B) is required.
